This autumn, the Relais de Chambord is opening its doors to artists. Open-air painting and bespoke poetry: two events offering a different way to experience the estate.
Situated opposite the château, the Relais de Chambord has always been a place that invites contemplation. With the Artist Corner, this inspiration takes shape before your very eyes: on certain dates throughout the year, an artist sets up in the hotel’s garden and shares their art with our guests : live creations, workshops and pieces to take home. A fleeting yet heartfelt artistic interlude, in tune with the rhythm of the surrounding nature.
Lucas - Nature captured in the moment
Based in Stockholm, Lucas has left his career as an artificial intelligence developer to devote himself entirely to painting. His primary source of inspiration is nature, which he prefers to paint outdoors “there’s no better way to appreciate my surroundings than by trying to capture them”.
On 2 and 3 September, he will set up his easel in the Relais’s garden, opposite the château, and invite guests to watch his oil paintings take shape.
On 4 September, he will bring his residency to a close with an introductory masterclass.
The works created during the event will be auctioned on the artist’s platform and will form the basis of a collection of exclusive postcards from the Relais de Chambord.
Océane - Words as mementos
In autumn, when the estate is bathed in gold, it’s time for words.
Océane, a poet and artist, sets up shop at the Relais, in the garden or at the bar, depending on the season, to offer guests a unique experience: bespoke poetry. Share an emotion, a memory or the moment you’re experiencing with her, and she’ll turn it into a poem, written right in front of you and calligraphied on a card created especially for the occasion : the most personal souvenir of your stay.
