500 years of Renaissance – 500 years of Chambord
This year we celebrate the half-millennium of the beginning of the construction of Chambord Castle, the most majestic and largest Renaissance castle.
All started on 1519 in accordance with the desires of François I, resulting in an architectural jewel and a Renaissance emblem throughout the world.
After 500 years, and coinciding also with the 500th anniversary of two other key dates of Loire Valley History -the birth of Catherine de Médicis, queen of France from 1547 until 1559, and the death of Leonardo Da Vinci who symbolizes the fields of arts and science around the world- the Château de Chambord hosts a large list of activities up to everybody.
To celebrate history and make you discover some of Leonardo da Vinci’s work, we have prepared a special package for you to enjoy all year long, which includes:
-Welcome cocktail at our bar.
-Entrance to Chambord Castle.
-Entrance to Amboise Castle.
-Entrance to Clos-Lucé Castle.
-Special gift: book “Chambord five centuries of mystery” by Jean-Michel Turpin.
